Digital Archival Process
My digital archival process begins with a free consultation via phone, email, or text. This helps me understand your needs and ensures your artwork is ready for archival. For optimal results, your artwork should be mounted on a wall or easel in an area free from direct sunlight or other powerful light sources.
During the session, I use a high-resolution mirrorless camera, professional off-camera flash, and color matching cards. I take a reference image with a color matching card and use specialized software to correct colors and keystone distortions, ensuring the image is perfectly flat and color accurate. The final images are delivered through a Google Drive folder in both full-resolution and web-resolution formats.
FAQs
How much does it cost?
Pricing starts at $25 per piece but can vary depending on the complexity of the artwork and the deliverables. This can be discussed during the free consultation.
What types of artwork can be photographed?
Flat artwork is easiest to archive, but I can also photograph multimedia paintings and other three-dimensional works. We can discuss various techniques to capture the dimensionality of these pieces during the consultation.
What preparations are needed before the photography session?
Ensure your artwork is mounted on a wall or easel in an area without direct sunlight or strong light sources. Only one peice can be photographed at a time so have the others standing by to replace the previous piece as I photograph them.
